Fuzzy was created to help people make safer, more informed decisions before connecting with someone online. By combining identity verification, people search, and trust signals into a single experience, the platform aimed to bring greater transparency and confidence to digital relationships.

My Role

Visual design, mobile product design, and creating a trust-first experience for a highly sensitive consumer product.

I designed the mobile experience from onboarding through search and verification, helping translate complex identity and safety concepts into interactions that felt approachable, credible, and easy to understand.

The Results

The visual design established a distinct personality for a brand-new product, balancing trust and transparency with a more approachable, human experience.

One of the things I enjoyed most about working on Fuzzy was helping shape a product that needed to feel trustworthy without feeling intimidating. The founder had a clear vision for creating safer online connections, and our role was to translate that vision into an experience that felt approachable, conversational, and distinctly human.

I joined the team as the product approached launch, collaborating closely with another designer, UX partners, and stakeholders to refine the experience and push the visual language further. Through a combination of bold color, custom illustration, rounded typography, and authentic photography, we created a design system that balanced trust and personality. The goal wasn't to look like a dating app or a traditional verification tool, but to create something that felt approachable enough for everyday use while still communicating confidence and transparency.
